“How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, that has such people in it!” – THE TEMPEST

David Robertson opens the four-week Shakespeare Festival with dramatic selections from Sibelius’ The Tempest, featuring actors from Shakespeare Festival Saint Louis and  incorporating dreamlike and magical colors conjuring a violent storm at sea. Violinist Leila Josefowicz returns with her “gleaming sound and supple technique” (New York Times) performing John Adams’ Symphony for Violin and Orchestra, Scheherazade.2.
